Are oils are used in the massage treatment?
Oil is used on shoulders, back and neck, but not on the head. If you do not wish to have any oil residue on your hair, please be sure to inform your therapist of this.
Is the massage performed seated or lying down?
During the Indian Head Massage, the client is lying down while the practitioner is standing or seated at the end of the massage table closest to the client’s head.
Are deep tissue massage style pressure techniques used on the neck & shoulders?
Yes, to get maximum tension relief and to help remove knots, deep tissue massage is used on the shoulder and neck areas. The pressure intensity is always uniquely tailored to suit each person.
How should I dress for the massage?
For Indian Head Massage treatment, it is requested that you disrobe from the waist up. (Mid back, neck and shoulders will be worked on)
A fresh towel is draped over the upper body, along with a blanket, if necessary, to ensure maximum comfort.
